Liquid - Measure the syrup with a marked measuring spoon or medicine cup. Tablets - Do not chew or crush the tablet, instead swallow the whole tablet.

Dosage

The normal dosage for adults and children 4 years of age and older is two inhalations every 4 to 6 hours. However, in some cases one inhalation every 4 hours is adequate.

Interactions

Albuterol should not be used with other stimulant drugs because of their combined effects on the heart rate, blood pressure, and the potential for causing chest pain in patients with underlying coronary heart disease. In addition, Albuterol should not be used with tricyclic antidepressants, such as Elavil, because of their combined toxic effect to the vascular system.
